Chamonix Off-piste - Freeride in the Vallee Blanche
Taking this one day adventure allows you to discover the best back-country spots in the Vallee Blanche amongst other lines from Chamonix. Qualified mountain guides will take you to off-piste spots suitable for all levels.
Chamonix is a town located in the French Alps, its famous for its towering peaks and based under the tallest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc (4,808m). It is one of the oldest ski towns in the world with tourism dating back to 1821 when the first guiding association was established. Since then the town has become a mecca for backcountry enthusiasts and mountaineers, Making Chamonix a centre for progressive mountain culture in Europe.
You will be riding pure back country, be prepared for some hiking as we implement the “earn your turns” philosophy to reach the absolute best possible snow. Let our Mountain leaders take you through glaciated terrain safely, ride past towering blue ice fields before choosing your next decent.
Chamonix Snowboard School specialises completely in Snowboarding, this give you the advantage as every off piste situation is chosen specifically for the sport. Although there will be hiking to reach the most remote snow, our UIMGA Guides will pick a boot pack suitable for snowboard boots without the use of crampons. Safety equipment (transceiver, shovel & probe) are not included but can be organised for you if needed.
This full free ride day will satisfy your lust for back country riding and by taking a professional guide with you to worry about the route, you can focus completely on you technique and style. The guide will also offer coaching and tips where needed. All levels welcome!
