I am a Level 2 APSI qualified Snowboard Instructor who has riden Buller for 15+ years and worked there as a snowboard instructor for 6 (coming up to 7) winter seasons. I have a good understanding of snowboarding and am able to handle snowboard ability levels from first timer to experienced and show them the best that Mt Buller has to offer! I am a also a primary school teacher so am more than able to work with kids of all ages as well as adults.

Being only 3-4 hours from Melbourne, Mt Buller is the perfect mountain for a day trip and I have personally done HEAPS of day trips there as well as planned and run day trips for 60+ students at the primary school I work at. The below is the structure of how a day trip that I am offering to Buller will work however if you are super keen for a multi-day trip then get in touch and we can organise something, I will be able to make recommendations about accommodation in this situation.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick up location is negotiable but South East suburbs of Melbourne (around Oakleigh) is preferable. Ideal pick up time to make the most of the day is 5am however a later departure time is ok. We will drive the 3-4 hours to Mount Buller with one stop along the way for breakfast and bathroom break.

Rental equipment and lift tickets can be purchased on the mountain and from my experience of working at Mt Buller for 6 seasons I have seen equipment from all of the rental shops on the hill and am able to direct towards the shops that provide good equipment at a reasonable price! I also have a good understanding of the bars and restaurants on the hill and can make good recommendations for lunch, snacks and drinks.

Departure time can be whenever you are ready to go but lifts shut down at around 5pm and rental equipment needs to be returned around then so a departure time of around 5.30pm is recommended. Depending on traffic the drive home is generally around 3.5 hours so a return to Melbourne of around 9-10pm is expected depending on whether a dinner stop is made or not. There are multiple options for a dinner stop from nice pubs to greasy fast food.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before attempting a day trip by yourself please keep in mind that petrol up and back will cost around $100, chain hire is around $40 and mountain entry is around $50. These are unavoidable costs that I will cover. Also through being staff at Mt Buller I am eligible for other discounts around the hill including food and these savings can be passed on to your group.

I am available on weekends and during most school holiday periods.
