Tröllaskagi has been described by many as the Icelandic Alps, its rugged mountains rise straight out of the ocean and dominate the entire central-northern peninsular of the Island. Upon arrival in Iceland you will be picked up from the South of the island and transported all the way to 66° North.
You will get the chance to witness incredibly diverse landscape as you travel through lava fields, past volcanoes before arriving in the traditional mountainous fishing village of Siglufjörður. Its charm is only complimented by the towering 1000m mountains around that slowly get larger in the heart of the range. Here you will be welcomed by the expedition team, eat a hearty Icelandic dinner and given a briefing about the coming days ahead.
Your basecamp will be set up in a prime location, based on snow conditions and rider ability to give everybody the wilderness experience of a lifetime. Split boarding from the camp everyday you will begin to learn more about the snow conditions and get accustomed to the Icelandic mountains. During the evenings between January to March its possible to witness the Aurora Borealis lighting up the sky, April and May the days will be longer and the Midnight Sun ever approaching.
This experience is designed to give you more knowledge of snow camping and wilderness living that can be applied all over the world. Our custom made 4 season expedition tents have been made to withstand the harshest weather but also offer a level of comfort and functionality second to none. Once you have conquered the peaks of the Troll Peninsula along side your expedition guide, a transport will be organised back to civilisation in the South. One night in Reykjavik will allow you to digest the adventure of a life time along side your expedition team and of course a few Icelandic beers.
Day 1 On the arrival a transport will be waiting to bring the group to the town of Siglufjörður. The travel will take between 5-7 hours, depending on road condition.
